Are these "new features" render settings, light settings (properties), or nodes added to the light "material" ?

I ask because i have seen some awesome stuff done with the current version of poser that requires node work that remains beyond my comprehension.

I'll be more impressed with the new feature if it doesn't take a Math PHD to figure out.
