Great tip templargfx.. Unfortunately when I tried it on the DMI model, the tires/wheels are still grouped together as sets of 4, at least on the .obj import. I suppose you could use the grouping tool to select just one somehow. One other advantage of using 3D Exploration for me is that it's pretty easy (though tedious) to rename the French parts and materials to something more intuitive for future use. I'll definitely keep the grouping trick in mind though for less complex models.
