This then brings up this menu, and you click on one of the vacant grey squares, (4) and this bring up a normal file browser, (5) where you can search for the correct image texture.

I found that it's easier to search using a normal sized Windows Explorer before going to this small box in the mat lab, but that's up to you.

After all that when you get back to the Mat Lab, then that's the time to start thinking about transparency and alpha's.
