You mean that I can put a 3D image of let's say the Morphing Fantasy Dress into Photoshop using 3D Coat and texture the dress in it's 3D view instead of on a flat template having to fuss with trying to match up front and back seams and straps and belts at the waist etc?

Sort of :) but its better than that

  1. Import MFD into 3d coat
  2. Paint directly onto the mesh in 3d coat using brushes, textures and all sorts of other tools.  As you paint you can paint onto 3 different channel maps - Colour, Specular and Displacement
  3. You can synchronise your textures with Photoshop to use any ps tools that you like, then synch back again :)

A texturers dream :)
