I know I'd be good at texturing because I love to sew and I have all kinds of design ideas in my head from when I used to tailor real clothing. But I just don't have the patience for the tedious fiddling that is involved with trying to texture a flat template and then having to try and match up front/back/side seams or imaginary lines when making straps or waist/neck lines with front/back flat templates. I've always wished that I could just have the whole 3D mesh of the clothing item on the screen and be able to just paint directly onto it because that would take the tediousness trial and error out of it. > > Is there a demo of the program that I could try before buying? I do have Photoshop CS but am not very good with it. I started with Paint Shop Pro and haven't really worked at learning Photoshop because the method for doing things is just so different and I have a hard time relearning something and have always went back to PSP because it's just been easier and faster to do things instead of fiddling and trying to do it in Photoshop. But if this 3D Coat can do what I think you are saying it can, then I would make the extra effort to learn Photoshop!:) There is a demo I think, check the 3d coat site (link attached).
You can use psp with it I think, anything that will handle a psd file will work. I'll do a demo when I get home from work, so you can see what it does a bit better. Though if ya look on my youtube site I have some videos on texturing on a model.
John :)
