Wings is free, and it's got some really nice features. Once you get it, you'll usually get good responses in the Wings forum here at Renderosity if you post any questions.

Wings is going through a growth spurt right now, and they're having a new release every couple of weeks or so, and making some menu changes. At the web site, there are always a pair of download links, one for the latest "stable" release, and one for a "development" release. I usually get the development release, but being brand spanking new, these releases occasionally have glitches.

I've used all kinds of modelers, and I think Wings is one of the best around. And, you can't beat the price.
