I run on a Mac. At the moment I have the opposite problem - I cant start vue by clicking on the application icon in the dock. I have to keep it on my desktop and click there. This only started in  7.4,
was fine in v6 and in the earlier versions of v7 (complete).
E-on didnt help at all, they dont take much notice of problems specific to Macs.

Did you try pioneer, the basic version (free) of vue?
