OOOO good analogy... those pre-packaged "ramen" noodles - aren't those HORRID when they get overcooked?  i cant even eat them now since I watched "The Ramen Girl".  now THERE was some Ramen!!!

I attempt now and then to learn more about Poser's material room... but I swear, i get lost after placing my 5th or 6th node in place.  I'd rather get lost for hours in Vue's function editor - and find new levels like I did with the water editor the other day LOL.

Its SO INTUITIVE.  Once I got over my fear of Vue's material editor, my poser figures suddenly became lifelike.  I recently got to pat myself on the back for helping a friend figure out the basics of the material editor  (as pertains to human flesh - and I did it without looking at Vue), and she even dove into the function editor a few times.... the results were vastly superior to the things she had produced in there up til that point (the ones without using SkinVue, that is LOL) - even the hair looked more lifelike and less like molded plastic (I do wish Vue talked better with Poser on that aspect... yeesh)

She learned using SkinVue to begin with.  I started out with NO skinvue and no ability to use it (Vue 6 Esprit LOL)... I had to learn rather quickly how to get the results others were able to achieve much easier.  I do love to use SkinVue now - I sometimes start with that, and then tweak the materials to suit me in the material editor/function editor.  I recently managed to add water droplets to skin using transparency & displacement.  Unfortunately, I cant get it to render out very well.... It'll go, but it takes literally foreeeeever, so I end up getting frustrated and tell it to stop.

Boy, I cant wait til I can afford a more powerful machine (although this one is still keeping up)... cus then, I can have my fettuccine, sauce, and meatballs - all on a golden platter, complete with freshly baked garlic bread.  grins

Rarer than a hairy egg and madder than a box of frogs....
