Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 10 5:41 pm)
It's a theoretical question trying to get at how their algorithm actually works. My guess is going to be that they all match at one natural Poser unit from the lights. Another way to think about the question is: If I have a Poser 7 light set and want to use it in Poser 8 with linear/quadratic lights instead, how should their intensities be chaged to keep the light on the primary subject the same? It's going to depend on the distances from the subject to each light.

I'm pretty sure you're right about 1 PNU. The curve is adjusted so that the selected intensity happens at a distance of 1 PNU, regardless of which falloff setting is chosen.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

I have a question about the normalization of the new linear and quadratic fall-off lights in P8. If I have three point lights at the same place, all with identical intensities but one constant, one linear and one quadratic, at what distances are the fluxes pair-wise the same?
