Anyway.. Do you by any chance use Norton as well? Norton is known for messing up a LOT of installations.

Latexluv - did you turn off Norton during installation of Poser and Flash.. (and IE8 - which I wouldn't touch with a bargepole myself if I didn't have to)  If not, try diabling it and reinstall everything.
