Subject: Poser 8 - INJ not working for bodys

Digitell ( ) posted Sun, 09 August 2009 at 9:29 AM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 1:11 PM

Hello, I have just bought Poser 8 and for some reason the Body INJ are not working for V3.
Is anyone else having this problem or know of this issue? Thank you.

Do you get any error message?

For me they work fine and a lot faster than with previous Poser versions.

Hi Dizzi..thank you for your response. No error messages..it is just that nothing happens when I apply the INJ...the leg jerks out then back again..but nothing else. Weird ...

I'm getting the same issues. I've filed a report with Smith Micro.

Hi,
jerking legs almost ever are caused by "IK on legs". First thing I do after loading a figure is to turn that off (well, sometimes I forget).

However this should be the same also with Poser 7.

Best regards,
   Michael

Thanks Michael..will check that then. Would that have anything to do with the INJ not working too? I too have filed a report to Smith Micro Basicwiz :) Thank you for your responses :)

Don't forget that V3 must be the first figure loaded into a scene (i.e Poser must start with no default figure loaded) for DAZ's INJs to work properly.

Essentially you need to delete the default figure and then "Set Preferred State" via the "General Preferences" dialog.

Good reminder, but ... Done all of that. It still fails on random objects and textures.

The jerking leg is NORMALLY a sign that the morphs has been successfully injected.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Well in the scene..I had loaded the Mil Dragon2 first..then the V3 figure. I had previously set my settings to my preferred settings. I then selected the V3 model and her "body" as the section secleted then tried to inject a character morph. The head works fine..but the body would not take it. The leg would just jerk and that is all would happen to the body.
So what you are saying is that I cannot have a previous figure..such as Mil Dragon2 loaded first? I have never had that situation before..odd. I will try again to see what happens..

The problem is that DAZ coded the V3 files to reference to figure :1, so yes, if you leave the files the way they are, injections only work on the first figure, so the dragon did get the injections you wanted on V3 ;-)

Digitell ( ) posted Sun, 09 August 2009 at 5:29 PM

Thank you for your answer Dizzi. Now I understand my situation..tho I didnt notice the Dragon's boobies getting bigger....lol!
I did go and load the V3 figure and tried the INJ again to her body..and yes this time it works!! So..problem solved. My question is..what if I have more than 1 V3 character in a scene. Does this mean that only the 1st V3 will be able to receive INJs?

Dizzi ( ) posted Sun, 09 August 2009 at 5:50 PM

You can save the injected V3 to the library and reload that (or duplication with P7+).
Or you change all the injection files, removing the :1 (that's what I did).

Digitell ( ) posted Sun, 09 August 2009 at 5:58 PM

Wow..change All inj files..gesh..that would take a ton of time as I have many many characters! I will mostl likely just reload that one V3 then. Thanks so much for that suggestion :)
