My 'poser' name has become my brand - I do sometimes sign posts using my real name - but know most people know me and my stuff by the posername. So I've kept using it - kept pretty much the same avatar as well as I know a few people 'read' forums by looking at the pictures.

I do know a lady who's name is the same as a hollywood actress and she's found that online using it on sites like facebook often just attracts abuse. One ISP even refused to let use it as her email address.
