Make sure you are not blocking Poser.exe ... if you are, the process will not complete and generate an error.

Not that it bothers me personally.. but does this mean you'll have to be connected to the Internet while installing Poser 8? Does it indeed phone home? I've told everybody that this wasn't the case, but your answer makes me wonder anyway.

Again, it's no issue to me, I have no problems with programs verifying themselves to the "mothership" - but I know a lot of people feel differently about that :)

No, you do not need to use that to Register either.. (it is a Check Box)... One of my Test Beds is isolated from the Network and I can install and activate Poser 8. I do update this machine to make it as if it is fully updated. After reading some posts, I am thinking about setting up another system to be like one that was never connected to the Web. I could do that with an XP system,.. Have one of those getting ready to come to me.
