Wow that was easy.

If you find something amiss, try narrowing down particular folder names, or runtime names. It would be good to find these, rather than have you just renaming stuff to get around it. We tried many funny characters. The characters space, underscore, numbers, vowels with accents, graves, umlauts, most all of these have been tested and working. Even some Japanese. But there could be exceptions or ones that are not consistently bad.

As to giant runtimes, We have a confirmed bug on the Mac, involving a folder containing hundreds of items, which is fixed in SR1. Nobody has confirmed this to be a problem on Windows, but it might be. The code is different in places, same in others.

The way we figured it out was to move everything out of a gigantic folder into a temp area, and Refreshed the folder. Then we moved subfolders back in chunks of ten at at a time, and refreshed. At 60 subfolders, it started to misbehave, causing some folders to disappear that were showing fine just a moment before.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
