Subject: 100% off! And I can't get it thru...????

MKeyes ( ) posted Mon, 17 August 2009 at 11:32 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 8:11 AM

Really appreciate Renderosity FINALLY doing a "Free" sale, however, I will appreciate it even more, when I can get the item that is discounted at 100% off! Won't let me finalize the order!

HELP!???!!!

Hello,

You must spend at least $5.00 to be able to checkout with the free item.

Please see the link below for more information.

Hope this helps!

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

So, it's not really free if we have to spend 5 dollars minimum to get it.  Wow, at least at DAZ when they put an item of the week for free up, it's actually free.  Don't get me wrong, it's a great item for $5, but, it's not free.  Free would mean it's the only item in your cart when you check out with nothing else in the cart.

It should be called "$5 dollar deal of the day"

My thought exactly, and I was bragging Rendo up to say they'd finally joined in to be more like Daz3d - NOT - the reply will be, that it's 100% off of THAT item, but you must purchase something else to get it.

Not at Daz - when Daz says it's 100% off! That's exactly what it is. No other purchases necessary! Oh well... now we know. And that is why Daz3d is top vendor and always will be!

MKeyes, I’m sorry (and a little surprised) to hear that you do not believe Renderosity is Top and that the promotion seemed unclear, since you are a vendor here at Renderosity and we notified vendors of all the details by email and vendor forum post last week.  I realize that if those posts were missed, along with our article and Marketplace banner, that the sidebar may have been the source of confusion for some. Thank you for pointing it out, so we could correct that.  I added the “with purchase” info in the sidebar to avoid anyone else being confused.

If we’re going to be compared to other sites, then I hope you would consider all the ways Renderosity gives away free stuff without a purchase required; (i.e. the nearly 25, 000 FreeStuff items we have, the tens of thousands of dollars we give away in Gift Certificates, the newsletters Freebies, and the several weeks out of every year that our vendors donate top quality items around the holidays, surveys, etc that all can be download without going through a check-out process).  We are different than other places, but I think that's a good thing.

I hope your site preference will not stop you from participating in our upcoming surveys that help us continually improve our community.

Best Regards,
Jenifer

I wonder if mkeyes has looked into the free area? I am a member of DAZ as well and they have done promos with free as well as "free with". I guess it pays to read all the details. ;)

For my part thanks for the $13.99 freebie. I had already planned to purchase a sale item for about $6.00 anyway so getting the Bridal set for free was PRIMO!

Jenifer, it is getting better, I will admit to that. One of the best things done here is adding the CG Spree, I love that. And the 100% off is fantastic as well, don't get me wrong, but it would still be nice to have seen it no purchase necessary - yet - many many many will see the great deal that it is and jump right on it. I would have if my budget wasn't already stretched to the limit.

Adding that to "with purchase" is the best fix - you know how some of US folks can be - in this busy life, we have a tendency NOT to read newsletters that arrive unless it is something "DIRECTLY" to do with you at that moment and time.

No biggie - I did just tell someone, it's a major deal, if you have a fiver to spend, go for it - it's more than worth it. I would love to see Rendo conintuously improve as well, since I spend quite a bit here in addition to being a new vendor on the list. Working on something now - hopefully my time elsewhere will free up to add it.

Anyway - kudos and good add for the notifier about purchase needed, saves a great deal of hassle and misunderstanding... wink

I'm enjoying the spend $5.00 and get an item 100% free!!  I was actually coming here to make a post thanking Renderosity for doing this.  The other day I got a $15.00 item completely free. Sure I had to spend $5.00 to process it out of the cart, but I have a number of $5.00 items in my wishlist, so it was no hardship, I wanted the $5.00 item anyway. This was an incentive to get it.

And today they have a great Powerage item that I've had my eye on. Instead of spending $12.00 for it, I get to spend $5.00.  Divided up between the item I purchased and the "free" one, that is $2.50 each.  Colour me thrilled!!!

Sorry but THAT bit got my hackles up.

It is not Renderosity who *gives away" the 25000 free stuff items, it is US, the Free Stuff providers,. And until a few days ago where Rosity decided to take all the credit and host them on their own server, all they did was provide a link to it!

I enjoy all the free stuff here, and I enjoy the Heat Is On idea (now if only I could actually GET my free item.. since I didn't know I was supposed to add it to my cart before I went and bought something) but saying that Rosity is so generous because they give away all the things in the Free Stuff section.. almost made me pull my free items here and now.

Give credit where credit is due, thanks...

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Oh and why is my text in italics? I DID end the quote tag properly...

That's weird as I don't see why they would be in italics either when I looked at your source for your post??

Maybe its a glitch? Let us know if you see that happening again when quoting.
