Just checked out the link(s) you provided. Agree they`re absolutely stunning.

Now, you might think Im crazy but Im convinced that all those clouds could possibly be created in Vue (although its a hell of a challenge). The point is that you have to use the function editor to create them, because the spectral cloud model is somewhat limited. Creating such clouds requires that you can freely displace, distort your shapes and this is not possible with the current model, except when you use it along with the function editor. As I said, its a challenge and its not trivial, but its possible.
Below are a couple of examples, which do not resemble the ones in your links. Nevertheless they show a bit of what can be achieved.
