oh here comes the kicker on my mouse problems.

I can repair the docking station with a 30 ohm resistor.

now, to order that here : 30ohm resistor = 15cents. postage and packing $10.
to get it from  a mate in the UK : Resistor 15p, postage and packing 60p

insane....
