Any particular reason you want to give yourself a compositional headache like this? :)

Hmm. Okay, there has to be a workable solution here. Since your reflected character is inside the mirror, try this. Render with the "real" character the way you want him/her/it set up. As you position him/her/it, put your to-be-reflected character on the opposite side of the mirror wall -- dont worry that you cant see him yet. But place him the same distance away from the wall on one side as your other character is on "our" side of the wall.

Render.

Save.

Okay, now strip out everything but the to-be-reflected character. Adjust your lights to mirror their previous positions. Render against black with an alpha channel.

Save as a different file name. Export the image and the alpha.

Okay, now you have your reflection in the right place, and you can isolate it from the background. Put it into your image and start compositing.
