Quote - On broadband VS dial up (which is the better), it depends on how much you use it and how large the files are. For example getting broadband to down load 40MByte files is simply not worth the cost for me, it only takes two hours. If I want say a new version of Poser, I can order a boxed copy of it and have it here within a week and pay the extra shipping and handling charges. With the money I save with dial up, I can replace a rack and pinion steering assembly or buy high grade tires for the car, or purchase neat extensive 3D software like 3DStudio Max, LightWave or Maya where I can design my own figures***
*** Few minor things stopping me from buying these neat 3D programs for designing my own figures are talent, brains, etc. So I just save it and apply it to buying a brand new used Caddy every ten years or so. Jan
I'm amazed at your thriftiness and wish I possessed it myself...lolol. In this day and age, you have to chop where you can and if that means something that you might otherwise hold dear, so be it if it means there will be food on the table.
We get our cable internet for free because the hubby works for the cable company, but if we had to pay, then that would be entirely another matter...lol.
I rather admire you ;o).
