The only crash problem occurs, which I can confirm again and again, is when I put more than two figures (V4 or others) into one rendering scene, an "out of memory" message appears and the program crashes. Afterwards when I restarts Poser 8 and tries to enter "general preferences" setting it crashes again, at the end I have to uninstall Poser 8, remove all previous settings and reinstall again. 

Have you by any chance altered the default TEMP path in Poser? The only time I had to reinstall mine was after I stupidly messed around with my temp folder and made Poser unable to find it. Then it crashed whenever I tried to open the preferences, like you describe.
