I'm so hoping that I get this job!!!  It's working in Cancer Care, which is a clinic.  I've been caring for patients at the bedside for almost 15 years and I'm frustrated and  tired of the politics and working short staffed.

I'm an excellent nurse and I know my job.  I just don't feel I'm giving good quality care to my patients because my shifts are so busy and I have too many patients in my assignment  that I just don't have the time I feel I need to commit to each patient.  I've only been back at work a year and I'm already feeling burned out.

Several nurses on my ward are actively looking for different positions. One nurse already  found another position in the hospital that she is happy with. I could get another job in the hospital without a problem, I figure after 15 years I can be picky and I decided that  I want days, no weekends and no holidays! Those positions are few and far between so I started expanding my search outside the hospital.

This clinic setting will give me the same pay. The hours are Monday to Friday days with some days not being able to leave until maybe 6 or 7pm (but it's better than working until Midnight!).  No weekends and no stat holidays.  Plus I will have autonomy with certain things where in my current setting I often feel my hands are tied.
