THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Rendering

Hi all!

I am very new to Bryce and I was wondering about rendering options.  For my stuff, so far, I have been doing "fine art" and setting it to "aggressive".  Am I doing some overkill on the rendering?  My skills are not all that great (yet!) so I figured those settings would give it the best look.

What say ye?

Howdy,lets see a pic.

"Reinstall Windows" is NOT a troubleshooting step.

Just uploaded one, "Sunset On Jungle Ruins", on the standard (not "fine art") and "normal" as opposed to "aggressive".  All the other posts in my gallery were done in "Fine Art" and "aggressive".

Thanks for the quick response...

BTW:  LOVE your tagline!  :-)

you are doing the overkill.. you don't need fine art.. normal AA would do.. as well as normal everything. Agressive is killing it all. Try using fine art if only if you have materials that need that extra smooth effect.. like once..i used a grainy mat for a wall.. using normal AA gave it a dull grey effect..completely not what it ught to be. Using fine art rendered it smooth.

You'll notice too.. your render timings change.. if you use glass or water, i'd advice you never to use fine art unless you want to go on a holiday and come back and still see it rendering.

Also.. using Fine art requires that you sort of know how many rays of pixels you want it to get into and the rest of the jing bang options that come with it.. .. since you new to bryce.. render normal..and go thru a tut on render options..

As for aggresive.. go normal.. don't push. It depends on how many objects are in your scene. If it's a few.. then normal. If it is a hundred..then go for agressive. '

Cheers and happy brycing

Hey thanks!  Having had no education in this area and knowing absolutely no one that even knows what Bryce IS, I wasn't sure how to do much of anything.

Thanks for the tips - REALLY appreciated.

Is there a tut on render settings?  I haven't noticed any (here).

It would help if we knew what version of Bryce you are using.

Looks like Bryce 5.5 from comments in his gallery.. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

Well I've been thru your gallery and my 2 comments other that erosiart's comment on quality would be...more grunge, small scale chaos/dirtyness and soft shadows would help nearly every one but awesonme work for the short time you seem to have been working with Bryce.. ...
