Subject: Streaking during render...?

Anasta ( ) posted Sat, 28 November 2009 at 9:38 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 3:21 PM

*I've noticed this is just about every render I do regardless of the render settings or bucket size. Every once in awhile along the render, I get these tiny grey streaks... Usually on the skin or along plain textured walls.

I end up post-working them out but does anyone know why it does this (I use Poser 7) and how I can get it to stop?*

*OK lets see if I do this right...

The streaking, you can see is across the skin mostly.*

I Still get this occasionally.  It's very annoying,  all I do is render again.  SR2 fixed this up a lot.

BTW are You using Poser 8 ..?

Its not a horrible thing and easily postworked like I said.. And no I'm still using 7 :)

No, I haven't streaked since my teen years. I do skinny dip once in awhile but never when rendering.

LOL. I knew I couldn't be the only one.

The last one I saw was a guy leaving My house through the Bedroom window while I was still opening the front door...  He never did come back for the clothes he left behind..  But I did the right thing.  I called His wife and told Her where He was hiding in the  bushes..

But Seriously, this person is having streaks of an entirely different kind...

*ROFL You guys are a silly bunch :P This is what happens when I go to bed before the fun stuff starts LOL

Anthanasius: I do that every time I render and it still streaks. I've even gone so far as to reboot my PC, remove my desktop image, close down all non-necessary backround tasks and run on the bare-bones to get the render to go more smoothly and I STILL get streaks :(

There's the finished product after postwork guys.. Thanks again :D*

I notice similar streaking in my renders when using the sinc filter, but never with the box or gaussian filters. I way prefer the way the sinc filter looks though.

Try this: Increase your shadow ray bias.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Hello I don't know if you are still having the problem with streaks on your renders. I too had black streaks on my renders mostly when I raytraced, Here is how I seem to have solved it. If you have been working with your scene for awile to get it just right by making a lot of test renders first. When you are all set up for a final render Just before you push your render button to start your final high quality render. Reload the textures, its at the top under render controls. It will take a minute for poser to reload all the textures. Than push render. This seems to have solved this perplexing problem for me. I tried many other things and found this by accident and it seems to work. Hope it helped
