Subject: Is there an alternative to Autogroup Editor?

Omadar ( ) posted Wed, 02 December 2009 at 12:37 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 11:02 AM

Hi,

I purchased Autogroup Editor in 2004 and recently upgraded to Windows 7. Unfortunately,the license provided with the software has run out.

I've tried contacting Markdc to have a new license issued, but my attempts have been unsuccessful.

Is there another piece of software or plug-in that works as well as AGE?

I'd like to avoid breaking down the clothing parts in Maya.

Thanks in advance,

Omadar

The OBJ2CR2 plug in license does not expire.

Easily convert OBJ files into conforming Poser figures. Details at:-

 Thanks Phil!

I should have thought to go to your site :)

For ease of use and accuracy, I've found nothing even comes close to Obj2Cr2... and it keeps you out of the Setup room. I think it's an essential for clothing developers! Easily worth every penny. Beautiful work, Phil!

Thanks Robyns,

I have to admit I'm always a bit leary of purchasing 3rd party plugins. I've had a lot of issues in the past with plugins not working and/or a complete lack of support from their authors.

My girlfriend swears by PhilC products and tells me his support is first rate.

I decided to take the plunge and you were both right.Obj2Cr2 an excellent product; it's very fast and I like the workflow compared to using AGE then Quick Conform or Toolbox.

His support seems awesome too. He sent me my license key 5 minutes after I sent my registration.

PhilC is a true gem!

Contact the staff here at Rosity. They usually have a better luck getting hold of MarkDC. Although he DID eventually reply last time I PM'ed him to get a new license for my AGE.

It's an annoying way to secure your stuff. And problem is there IS really nothing that does exactly what AGE does, and do it as well. PhilC's OBJ2CR2 is GREAT (I have that  too and use it a lot) but with AGE you can easily identify and fix those stray polygons that like to end up in another group than where they should be. Both programs compliment each other but none can really (IMO) replace the other fully. (AGE together with QuickConform does roughly what OBJ2CR2 does - although I substitute QuickConform with PFE as I have that and it can do a lot of OTHER things as well :)  - but OBJ2CR2 is brilliant for getting a quick conforming outfit - for the figures that are supported ;) Last I looked neither Bong nor Mo was ;)

And PhilC IS a gem!

Thanks folks :)

TrekkieGrrrl have a look at this page. I left the OBJ2CR2 sufficiently open so that someone could add suport for other figures themselves.
