Until the tutorial is ready, try moving the center of the joint, your mouse will turn into a little circle when you reach the center of the crosshairs and you can move it around, line both crosshairs up together and experiment with the rotation angle on the bottom of the joint editor....you can get really good reactions if you try to move it yourself, sometimes better than you think you need.
