Quote - Has anyone got experience of using DAZ Studio for making animations? How would you rate DAZ Studio and Poser 7 in regard to making animations.
Studio does not offer inverse kinematics, ragdoll and rigid-body physics, dynamic hair, a walk designer, or basic keyframing tools (like a proper keyframe graph or dope sheet). Unlike Poser's cloth room, its cloth-simulation plugin works with only a limited selection of store-bought items, and DAZ has posted no timeframe or revealed any progress concerning the release of the creation tools. Its material system has improved over the years, but still isn't quite as flexible and readily accessible for animation as Poser's.
There's no easy way to import background videos, either, so even if the keyframing tools were matured, it's unsuitable for rotoscoping.
On the other hand, Studio's AniMate and Puppeteer plugins provide user-friendly interfaces for the novice animator, and Studio's built-in lipsync is superior to Poser's Talk Designer.
