Subject: Installation code?

TonyL ( ) posted Tue, 15 December 2009 at 9:09 PM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 3:05 PM

Hi!

I just bought Vue 8 Esprit. I found the serial number on the insert that came with the discs but darned if I can find the Installation code. I check the FAQ on the web site and couldn't find anything.
HELP! (grin)

You use the serial number to install - once installation is complete, Vue gives you an INST code.

I am sure that Vue is a wonderful program...but. Over the years I have installed a LOT of different pieces of software and I have NEVER had to jump through hoops like I have with Vue. I finally got the installation code and registered the program. Fine. Restarted it and got the window that says I have to activate the already activated program! Now the web site won't accept my name or password. Sent for a new password. site won't accept it. Wrote to customer support... nothing.

Do  I have to sacrifice a virgin or pray to some forgotten god to register this thing? Any advice would be appreciated but, to be honest, I am about ready to ask for my money back.

Has anybody had these problems?

If you're under Windows 7 or Vista you have to start Vue once in administrator mode to enter your serial.

Thanx for that! I was going crazy trying to find a virgin up here!

Just right-click on the exe and select Run as Administrator.  Then render a sheep.

Tried running as admin. Didn't work. Cute sheep comment....Thanx for the helpful comment.

Once you have right-clicked run as administrator, you will have to activate once more, but then it should be fixed.  If not, try turning off the UAC and then try again to activate.

Can't activate it since the web site won't accept my name and password. This is really turning into a bad joke.

Put in a support ticket or give e-on a call.  Sorry you are having a bad time getting it activated.

Tony--

Glad you got it working!

Want to jump through hoops?  Install ZBrush!  The hoops are small, and they're on fire!

That's one of the reasons I gave up on ZBrush!
