Digital art is no different, to achieve a certain look time must be spent on the details of the medium. Instead of a physical substance and an applicator you have dials and render settings. When you walk into a pianters studio I bet you'd see a dozen or so unfinished works sitting around on easels. Mine are stored in a file on my hard drive. Take your time and creat what you feel, when you feel it ! :)
I get your point but see my previous post for my views on it all. It's not so much the time spent, it's how the time is spent. In my case, I was chasing some ideal of render perfection and rendering absolute garbage. :)
