Uhm, just guessing, but it looks like your plane is sitting on the default Poser plane, and you're looking up at it from underneath, sorta like being underground and looking at something at surface level. Get your plane in the air (check it against the ground level in either the right or left view cameras), and that weird little mass should disappear.
