No problem running Poser or other 3D apps on a laptop. My setup is a Intel Core2Duo 2.4Ghz, 4Gb Ram (3.5Gb usable in Windows), ATI HD4330 256Mb, 300Gb Hard Drive. Came with Vista 32bit, but I replaced that with WinXP, runs much smoother. I've got a 15,6" widescreen, I used to have a regular 17", but I do not miss the size difference at all. The widescreen is wider, but less high, but I do not miss the height at all. I do find that the extra width is much more pleasant and usefull then extra height.

It handles everything well, Poser runs great, everything is fast and responsive. Rendering goes pretty fast. I also use Vue, Bryce and TrueSpace (to model), no problems there.

Just make sure you get one with a dedicated video card, it's a must, the integrated gfx are not that good. I also would recommend considering a quadcore, in the long run it will be worth spending the extra money for that.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....
