The other alternative to plugging values into your PoserSurface would be to use BagginsBill's VSSProp to assign them.  You just need to connect the appropriate maps to their designated plugins.  But I may be opening a whole can of worms introducing this to a newbie.  However, if you are interested in how this process works, conduct a forum search for VSS.
