Well, since you're still on Poser 4 you have missed a lot. Poser 8 and D|S 3 both have advanced rendering engines with much more lighting options, much more complex materials and multi-CPU support. We have Ray Tracing for reflections and better shadows and dynamic cloth.

You have a lot to learn. Attached image is a Vicky 4 with a real skin shader, indirect IDL lighting and dynamic hair. Looks better then what P4 could produce, but it will take some time to learn. Both D|S and Poser 8 are much more complex then Poser 4.

A ship in port is safe; but that is not what ships are built for.
Sail out to sea and do new things.
