There's a lot more involved, but here are the basics: go into the hair room and click "New Growth Group" and name it, let's say, chest_hair. Now with your figures chest selected (still in Hair Room) click on "edit growth group" which will bring up the group editor menu and make your figure look darker. Then click on the little box with a + on the top )probably already selected) and drag it over the area you want the hair to be. It's a box shape, so you might have to do several smaller ones to get the shape they way you want. Then close the group editor and click "grow guide hairs". you'll need to adjust the length, etc. but that is the basics of growing hair in Poser.
