Guys, the OP already has the products purchased and downloaded.

This is the problem caused by Vista or Win 7 security, NOT Poser 8. Programs (such as Daz installers) are not allowed to install content in the Program Files folders of other programs.

Your files have been placed in a virtual store, because Microsoft is trying to protect you, and ending up preventing you from doing what you're trying to do.

This has nothing to do with Poser 8, other than the fact that when you installed Poser 8, you did not pay attention to the installer's recommendations about where your main runtime should be.

So now you have your main runtime in a protected area of your operating system. You cannot do what you want to do without knowing a lot more about system security, admin rights, and UAC.

Your choices as I understand them are:

1) Re-install Poser 8 the way it was suggested to by the installer. Then re-install all your add-on content.

  1. Run the DAZ installers again, but this time as an administrator, so the files go where you want them to.
  2. Disable UAC.
    4) Install your content to external runtimes and add them to Poser 8.

I'm sure somebody already posted instructions on each of these somewhere, but I don't have those links handy. I'd have to search the same as anybody else.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
