Well... I think Poser's dynamic cloth is also proprietary, FWIW.
Poser dynamic clothes are standard .obj files and can be used in other apps that have a general cloth solver system. ex. Poser dynamic clothes work fine in Blender after scaling up to a reasonable size.
The DS dynamic cloth requires a specific proprietary plug-in to use and a proprietary software to produce. The clothes only work in DS without more extra trouble than it's worth.
