Subject: Texturing Issues

With two light sources, I have two groups of specular reflections.

Now imagine we were making a color texture map to use with this ball, from photo references of this ball. The photo would have these speculars in it. We'd be including those speculars in the map, and they would only be right if the Poser sphere we used it on was expererience the exact same lighting situation as existed when the photo was made.

That is the problem. When you cut and paste photos of skin to make your map, you're capturing speculars with it that do not match anything in the 3D Poser scene. So they don't look like speculars anymore. They look like flaws in the textures.


Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
