I also can't afford right now to upgrade, and not sure it will benefit me.  I am using 8 and feel I have not had that long enough to justify an upgrade.  I am not having any issues wtih 8, it renders fast enough for me, of course mine is on a Win 7 workstation with 8gigs of ram, so I am not lost with power. 

When I release a product I am asked to still make it first compatible with P6 so there are lots of people out there still with P6.  Maybe someday but like RobysVeil said, by the time I am ready to upgrade, the new one will be out.
