i am doing spiderman for M4. its not perfect and the webbing on the suit is not good. but after 2 weeks of texturing i am giving up. i also modeled simple ''boots'' and a very low poly mask .

the best way to practice modeling and texturing is to have a project to work on.

hborre ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 2:46 PM

It does look pretty good.  Do you think you'll be doing a scene render with him?

ice-boy ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 2:50 PM

can i realese this in the free section?

markschum ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 2:51 PM

looks good .

hborre ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 2:52 PM

I don't see why not.

ice-boy ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 2:55 PM

then i will need some help.

i used Xurge3D Cr2 for the boots and for the mask. i tryed to writte it myself but it didnt work. i think i can not realese this free with xurge3D's CR2  right?

i think i will also realese all the photoshop files with all the layers for the web, symbols and masks. that way everyone can tweak the textures .

hborre ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 3:00 PM

That sounds about right to me.  You can get as far as offering the textures and stating that the user must own such and such item to complete the costume.

ice-boy ( ) posted Thu, 15 April 2010 at 3:16 PM

i can not find a blank M4 CR2 file where i would only insert teh path for my mask and boots. its needs to eb conforming.

Looks good.

hmm, bet there could be a creative use with the "loop making script" by Cage to do some webbing effects.  I haven't looked closely enough to be sure though.

hborre ( ) posted Fri, 16 April 2010 at 8:47 AM

That looks excellent!

Cause something is a little strange :o

to fix the boots select the boots and ''zero  figure''

ice-boy ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2010 at 4:13 AM

its in the CR2. the CR2 had some numbers messed up. i forgot to change it. if you go to ''zero figure'' for the boots it should fix it.

kamion ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2010 at 4:40 AM

in which version op Poser is this done?
because in Poser 7 and Poser 8 there is no option: zero figure

ice-boy ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2010 at 5:08 AM

i did this in poser pro 2010.

i asked on the forum if someone can help me with the CR2 file. if you know how to fix the CR2 file to use for the conforming clothes i will change it.

ice-boy ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2010 at 5:09 AM

if someone will make a better texture for the webbing it would be nice if you would post it in this thread.

ice-boy ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2010 at 5:11 AM

try  changing all the numbers on the body parts to zero.

-bend
-twist
-side

hborre ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2010 at 6:01 AM

Zero figure is found in the Joint editor.

kamion ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2010 at 7:04 AM

the zero-ing works fine,
actually I never used Joint-Editors as I hardly understand it's function.

two remarks:
the texture on the fingernails is either blue or white, while it's red in the cartoon, easy to fix in photoshop giving the texturemap red at the location  of the fingernails.

in the mask there are a few obstructive polygons that show up only when some posefiles are applied to M4

kamion ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2010 at 7:32 AM

I noticed that the disturbance in the Mask is caused when the neck of M4 is twisted or sided

other movement of M4 does not cause it.

i just loaded the material on M4 and the fingernails on the hand are red.

ice-boy ( ) posted Tue, 20 April 2010 at 2:28 AM

i think i fixed now the neck on the mask.

sorry for the problems.
you have to understand i didnt do this for the free section. i did this for me and to practice modeling and texturing. i just realesed this for free because not enough free stuff is realesed for M4. i think M4 is a good figure for superhero renders. so perfect for spiderman.

kamion ( ) posted Tue, 20 April 2010 at 2:58 AM

it's not critisism to your product, I like the product and am thankfull for it.
the important thing you have fun in designing this kind of stuff and probably want to have it working perfect too. just a notice of a minor glitch.
often freebee supporters take more care about their product then some vendors, who just ignore it when a glitch is brought to attention.

ice-boy ( ) posted Tue, 20 April 2010 at 3:05 AM

does the neck work now?

kamion ( ) posted Tue, 20 April 2010 at 3:10 AM

sorry, I haven't had time to reïnstall it yet, will do it sometime today.

yip, violet, that's the set I used.
wonder why I could not retrace it.

Looks like a great set....!
I found some action  poses for V4 also very useful for Spidey...

when I noticed the neck problem, I just made a transparency map for that part of the body and it worked out fine for me. Seemed an easy enough fix.

I seen about 4 or 5 attempts at spiderman I think yours is so far the best, I bet black suit spiderman will be awesome with your figure as well.

ice-boy ( ) posted Sun, 16 May 2010 at 6:59 AM

the conforming clothes, boots, masks and textures can be shared through e-mail and through private message on this forum.

ThunderStone ( ) posted Sun, 16 May 2010 at 8:06 AM

I did the black spiderman but for some reason I don't like the mask... it's has an opening at the base of the neck that isn't closed in to the neck, you can see it when you view it from the side. Otherwise it's a nice get up tho.
