WC, sorry to hear you got hit with that too. I'm working on a complete makeover and will be sure to be armed with some virus and malware programs. hborre is right about the restore points, I had not thought of that.  The one that hit me took out my IE, couldn't even open it.  The virus itself even had the microsoft badge logo on some of the popups to try and trick you into thinking your windows security system was detecting something so you'll be tempted to trust it and click on it, but it was all just part of the virus/malware.  Best of luck, hope you get it sorted out.
