Limiting the options seems really dumb on Apple's part-on the other hand they (besides wanting to charge more) probably want to keep that 100% compatibility reputation intact- and with so many versions out....

  I might wait until they decide to offer a faster card- THEN get the 4870 for less-rather than risking it.
