This is quite an energetic thread, to say the least! It's refreshing to see all these newcomers thrash about, setting up their Poser gear. No doubt you'll be rendering masterpieces before too long.
I have one advice. When you've got the basic technical stuff nailed try looking for some tutorials and articles on artistic approach. In Poser you have a figure and a camera, much like in traditional art and photography and therefor same "rules" apply when doing images in Poser. You can search stuff like Point of View (POV), Balance, Rule of Third, Color Theory etc. And like carodan said about the principles of 3D, you don't need to master these techniques but they can really help you produce better images.
