I'm using an ATI Radeon HD 5400 Series that does me really well on my Althon x64 (2x 3ghz). The thing that's going to make the most difference though in your case though is Ram. It may be worth it to try to upgrade that to as much as your board can take, and scrimp a bit on the card.
