I installed the ati driver earlier today without issue. Did you make sure that you grabbed the correct one for win7 64?

This update did something significant, because it required a reboot, unlike previous driver updates. Also, report the issue to ati.. thats the only way they know that it needs fixing.

I can verify that the new driver works fine in opengl and poser pro 2010 on an ati 4870
