A word of caution if you're using the Poser torus.
The coordinate system values that drive noise nodes such as Fractal_Sum are using the positions of the vertices BEFORE morphs, rotations, and other things are applied. These are called model-space coordinates.
The model-space of the torus is that of a skinny torus. If you make it fat, to be a proper donut shape, then the noise nodes look strange. They are using values of the original, unmorphed torus. The result is a problem.
What I did was to export the morphed torus, then re-import this as new geometry. Then the fatness of the torus is properly taken into account in model-space.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
