Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Poser 7 has no search. Poser 8 does, and it works fairly well. You might want to download the free version of P3DO http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/details.php?item_id=60191
It's handy when looking for stuff.
Also, unless you re-install your DAZ materials with the Poser option enabled, you're not going to get results for them. The file structures are different. Everything must be in a Poser runtime for Poser to see it.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply! MUCH appreciated.
I downloaded P3DO. Off the bat, I would hazard to guess I'll be playing around with DAZ a little longer. I'm too new. Most of the terminology is over my head. Don't think I'll be able to just wade into Poser, like I did DAZ and Bryce. Gonna be a MUCH bigger learning curve.
Thanks!
Kevin

Heh it's a matter of what you like most whether Poser or DS has the steepest learning curve. To me, DS is totally un-intuitive and "Lightwave-ish" whereas Poser is much easier. Also Poser and Bryce share (at least somewhat) the same interface so if you're used to Bryce, you may not find Poser so difficult to work in. Once you get all your stuff sorted into a proper runtime of course :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
I concur with Trekkie, I began with Poser 4 And used that up until Poser 7. I found it very fun and easy and yet when I branched out into DS I found it dauntng at first which is the opposite to my friends who began in DS.
Im fairly good with both, but have come back to Poser because it just feels easier and funner to me. Absolutely both are fun, find which works for you, and rn with it!
Pleasure to meet ya!
Thanks Trekkiegrrrl And Dynamo! Poser is obviously a very good program. I will keep on keepin' on!
I appreciate the encouragement! :thumbupboth:

PS: Pleasure to meet you, too, Dynamo!

Quote - ".....funner... *" * Is there such a word?
Sure, why not.. Before comon parlance was there a word such as "Fshizzle" or "Leet" or the two words fused in honor of your avatar "Superhero" and yet now both Marvel and DC Comics hold a dual trademark on it.
So yes, Im on a funner crusade! The world should be Funner :)

Hi All!
I have just over the past 11 months begun to play around with Bryce (free) DAZ3 (free) and a recently purchased, used version 7 of Poser.
BIG learning curve all the way around...A "quick" question: Does Poser 7 have the ability to search out content on my PC? I have a TON of figures and props from DAZ that I would like to use in Poser and I am still trying to get beyond the initial figure at start up.
Not asking for hand-holding through all of Poser, just this specific issue (search for other content from DAZ).
THANKS SO MUCH!
Kevin
