OK, the protections are there, but there is no way back, so better get used to it.

Readyboost itself is worth the difference. (or buy eboostr to do the same with XP)

But do the 2GB RAM upgrade.

And at least the 450 processor.

The N270 is a little on the light side for heavy progs.....
