What I was trying to say in my previous posts, but not sure it was clear, is that everyone’s point is very well taken. You all do not want to receive these types of emails. We get that. So, if there is an interest from a sponsor for this in the future, changes will be made.

As far as the rip-off report site, that is open for anyone to post to, share opinions, and give product feedback. People have the right to their opinion and voice it to others. As far as the quality of the video content on the DVDs, that can vary based on customer expectations. Renderosity owns 12 of the video DVDs, so I can say that some of the videos are better than others. Some of what we ordered is high def, and some was just standard. I haven’t seen any that are “unusable” as that member mentioned, but I think it really depends on how a person was planning on using them. I also haven’t seen any person close up videos that require model releases, but I may not have the same disc as that person nor have I personally been through every single video on all 12 discs.

I do understand phishing tactics, and I completely agree with the warnings and I’m very glad to see that you are cautious when you should be. How our newsletter software operates though is not phishing. The warnings of misspellings that can appear to be correct that take a person to a “spoofed” site. A good example of this is if the email url looks like bankofamerica.com, but is really bankofarnerica.com and the link takes you to a site that looks just the regular bankofamerica site. However, not ALL links that display one url and end up somewhere else are phishing. It’s quite common to have online advertising that works like that if it goes through any type of stat reporting. Online advertisers expect to get the info on how many views the ad received and how many people clicked on their ads, and how that’s handled can often go through a different url.  So, yes, though it can be a tactic that is used by phishers, not everyone doing that is phishing. Online advertising frequently does it to track actual views and clicks.

Its like I invited Renderosity into my home and became comfortable over time with the friendship and visits...and then all of a sudden Rendo started sending strangers to visit without asking me first.

I look forward to seeing the opt out feature start working.

Would be best in the future to let these vendors just run their ad on site. Most of us check rosity often for new deals at the marketplace anyhow..What I think made many suspicious, including me was that the email diverted to another web site, and not Renderosity... Had it just went back to here, no problem..Just my 2 cents :)
