Poser 8 has been working (and Poser 6 and Poser 7 for that matter) with Wine for quite some time now. Personally I've used Poser with Wine for a few years now. Since Ubuntu 7.04. or 6.10. (don't recall exactly). And now with 10.04.

DAZ installers have been the cause of headaches, though. Some installers work with Wine, some don't. I've used a minimal WinXP installation with Virtualbox virtual machine to install DAZ content, but otherwise using Poser in Ubuntu is a breeze. Also the P8 service releases work fine with Wine now - with Poser 7 installing the service releases needed extra steps.

Oh and currently (Wine1.2, Ubunt10.04, Poser8 SR2) I've encountered only two problems: modal dialog windows can get "behind" the main Poser window, which effectively "locks" Poser and it must be killed. It can be countered easily though. The other prob I have encountered is that the built-in Wardrobe Wizard doesn't work - it consistently hangs at same percentage when doing converting (tested several clothing items for several different base models). Not a problem for me though since I've bought WW1 and WW2 long time ago and they both work just fine.
