Poser 4 is the version you probably want. Pro pack, while a good package is not for everyone. check out the curious labs web site to see the features of pro pack to determine if that's what you need. Poser 3 was given away with a magazine a while back (3d world?) You could get a copy of that for the price of a back issue. Ebay also sometimes has legal copies for sale, but be warned there are also illegal copies being sold. (frequently they don't give you the registration code that is required for installation)
