I would recommend changing any light settings to impact any skin texture.  Their influence is too widespread and will lead to further complicating issues.  For the most part, it is a quick & dirty cheat.  My advice, use Bagginsbill's VSSPR3 which contains a superior skin shader template to control skin tint.  I recently demonstrated skin color change for Miki 2.  It can be found here:
